"Hibiscus by the Tree" (13 1/2" x 10 1/2") Colored Pencil by Arzetta Mimbs

On a trip to North Myrtle Beach, SC, I found this hibiscus growing near our condo. I am always on the lookout for objects to paint, and I like the contrast of colors in the scene. I chose to do this painting in colored pencil because I could easily match the color of the flower. The original and prints are available for purchase. Interested parties may contact the artist via this blog.

"Lighthouse by the Rocks" (11" x 15") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

On a trip to coastal Maine after graduating with a B.F.A. degree from the University of North Carolina/Greensboro, I shot a photo of this lighthouse for future paintings. After applying watercolor to the foreground for the rocks, I used a credit card to add details to them. The original has been sold, but prints are available by contacting the artist through this blog site.

"The Old Plow" (16" x 12") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

This is a scene from my elderly Aunt Dorothy's garden spot. They actually use this old plow sometimes and it appealed to me. Not very many people see these plows anymore so I wanted to paint it. I take pictures every where I go so I can paint later in my studio. The original and prints are available. Contact the artist through this blog spot.

"Winter Wonderland" (10" x 7") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

This scene was our Christmas card last year. It was created from my imagination. I am from North Carolina and we had a lot of snow. Snow scenes are fun to paint. This original and prints are available by contacting me through the blog.

"Three Beauties" (10" x 8") Colored Pencil by Arzetta Mimbs

This was a picture I wanted to try with colored pencil on black paper. I was pleased with the outcome. The original is for sale as well as prints. I can be reached through this blogspot.

Calla Lilies (10" x 8") Colored Pencil by Arzetta Mimbs

This was another colored pencil I wanted to try on black paper and it turned out well. I'm ready to paint more on colored paper. The original and prints are available. Contact me through this blog.

Serenity (11" x 8") Colored Pencil by Arzetta Mimbs

This duck was part of a larger picture that I took of my granddaughter. The duck was just so regal and serene without a care in the world, and I loved the sharp reflection in the water. The original and prints are available by contacting me through this blog.

Watering Can (8 1/2" x 11 1/2") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

This watering can had been left at the edge of a friend's garden, ready for the next time it was needed. I was taking pictures of flowers and it appealed to me. The can is old and probably not available for sale anymore. The original has been sold, but prints are available. I can be contacted through this blog.

Reflections (10" x 13") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

I just loved all the reflections in the water in this picture. We go out on the water often and I am always on the lookout for pictures that appeal to me. The original and prints are available. Contact me through this blog.
