"Hibiscus by the Tree" (13 1/2" x 10 1/2") Colored Pencil by Arzetta Mimbs

On a trip to North Myrtle Beach, SC, I found this hibiscus growing near our condo. I am always on the lookout for objects to paint, and I like the contrast of colors in the scene. I chose to do this painting in colored pencil because I could easily match the color of the flower. The original and prints are available for purchase. Interested parties may contact the artist via this blog.

"Lighthouse by the Rocks" (11" x 15") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

On a trip to coastal Maine after graduating with a B.F.A. degree from the University of North Carolina/Greensboro, I shot a photo of this lighthouse for future paintings. After applying watercolor to the foreground for the rocks, I used a credit card to add details to them. The original has been sold, but prints are available by contacting the artist through this blog site.

"The Old Plow" (16" x 12") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

This is a scene from my elderly Aunt Dorothy's garden spot. They actually use this old plow sometimes and it appealed to me. Not very many people see these plows anymore so I wanted to paint it. I take pictures every where I go so I can paint later in my studio. The original and prints are available. Contact the artist through this blog spot.

"Winter Wonderland" (10" x 7") Watercolor by Arzetta Mimbs

This scene was our Christmas card last year. It was created from my imagination. I am from North Carolina and we had a lot of snow. Snow scenes are fun to paint. This original and prints are available by contacting me through the blog.
